When we look for the possible causes of back pain we cannot overlook the effect that our weight has on our back.
Research shows that a 40 lb. weight held at arm's length translates to 800 lbs at the belt line level of the lower back. It has to do with leverage.
It's interesting to note that no-one has measured the effect that a large pendulous abdomen has upon the lower spine but one can only / or maybe ought to imagine the affect it has.
Why not go to the super market and pick up a 20 lb. turkey and carry it around the store (in your hands at your belt line) for a half hour.
How does that feel now?
Now go put it back before it completely thaws out....
That big belly you're carrying around ALL of the time is doing the same thing to you - you've just adapted to it so you're un-aware of the total affect.
Here's the good news: You can put the turkey down (hopefully back in the frozen food section where you picked it up...), And, believe it or not, you can get rid of the big belly also. It's now a lot easier than it used to be.
