Directions / Landmarks:
Turn on to Myers Corners Road (AKA Rt 93), from Rt 9 (Next to the Mobil Station in front of Hannaford). If you are traveling South from Poughkeepsie you will be making a left turn just after the Hannaford Shopping Center. If you are traveling north from Fishkill you will be making a right turn at the Chase Bank opposite Poughkeepsie Nissan. Once on Myers Corners Rd., Marshall Road is the next Left at the light located approximately about 1/4 mile EAST of Route 9. We are in the same office park as Dutchess Community College South, the DMV and RiverBend Apartments.We are in the First building, adjoining the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union.
Dr. John Hannigan grew up in Wappingers Falls, NY
He has many varied interests including skiing, scuba diving, hiking, sailing, biking, running, surfing, traveling, reading, writing, exploring alternative health solutions
Following graduation from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1967 he went to the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Working in the commercial diving industry developing and implementing environmental & physiological control systems for oil-rig dive systems, he acquired an interest in alternative health solutions and decided to explore chiropractic. He first attended Fordham University in the Bronx, NY for a “pre-med” qualification before beginning classes at Life Chiropractic College near San Francisco, California in 1979. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the main campus of Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta, Georgia in 1983 with the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic.
Following graduation he started his practice near Garden City on Long Island and practiced there until 1985 at which time he returned to his home town of Wappingers Falls with his growing family that now included a daughter born while in California and a son born after the opening of the practice on Long Island. The new practice in Wappingers, started in the fall of 1985 has flourished from the start.
Graduation from Chiropractic College was not the end of his education and was soon followed by additional post-graduate courses and he continues to up-date his education and back-round in various subjects related to chiropractic and alternative health.
